Get That Job! Workshop : IT WORKS! I will definitely say YES to a different way of coming up with an interesting resume for potential employer, especially when you have to compete with big number of graduates looking for a job nowadays! :> I currently have three big offers which are from Bank Negara Malaysia, Boustead Holdings Berhad and a scholarship from a University, in my hand. I also got interview calls from other potential employers as well, like Malaysia Airport Holdings Berhad, and many more! Two of my friends have made their way to one of the Big Four audit firm in KL. :> How did we do it? Well, all this, is a result from applying the techniques taught by Mr. Mohd Rizal in his program, Get That Job! Workshop. :> The program was a good one which has successfully given me a new perspective of applying for my dream job, to going for the interview. I have learned a lot of new fresh ideas of preparing resumes and getting the right attention from my potential employer! :> I definitely agree on the part of ‘answering the advertisement’ the most, which is an important aspect you should stress on, when writing a cover letter and resume. I prepared all my cover letters and resumes based on all the requirements mentioned in the ad. It helped, in a sense that it lead my cover letter and resume direct to what the employer expected me to have mentioned (which match their requirements). For example, if the ad requires a candidate to be independent; I would mention in the cover letter (which should be to the point and brief) my experience in one particular situation which reflects my independency best. Later, I would go on explaining the details of the situation in my resume. In the interview part, when I was asked to tell about myself, I would mention all the criteria they required and match it with my relevant experiences. Then, expect the line “You have market yourself well!” from your potential employer, like I have! :> Another part which I have applied was having pictures in my resume. Don’t be reluctant to take a pic in front of the organization you are applying, and make it as your resume front cover, as you will get credit on it by your potential employer!. I did it on all my resumes and never fail to get a good note from my potential employers. They were impressed by my effort of matching myself with the organization and how I WANT to be in the organization. Moreover, pictures of me organizing activities, me with previous employers, colleagues at the office, practical training team, etc, give an idea of how active, sociable, and experienced I was. But then again, don’t over do it. Let it be a resume, not a fashion mag! :> Just provide relevant pictures to support your criteria which match the employer’s requirement and your explanation. We all should bear in mind that there is no maximum number of pages for cover letter and resume. As long as you answer the advertisement, it will be ok. I never had a complaint from my potential employers about my resume being 10, 12, 15 pages long! In fact, I got credit for sharing my experiences in the resume. They felt as though they WERE in my experiences. Other than writing resume differently, one can also present the resume in a different way depending on one’s creativity. Like sending a cd-resume instead of the hard copy one. Graphic presentation will be interesting enough to potential employers! :> Having done with the resumes and cover letters, I then went for the interviews. Again, I applied many interesting techniques taught by Mr. Rizal in his Get That Job! Workshop. For example, doing research on the Company, get to know at least the name of the interviewers, go to the company one day before the interview take place to know how big is the interview place, where is the elevator situated, which floor, etc. It really helped me to overcome nervousness!. :> On the day of the interview itself, I took the opportunity to know other candidates as well. Some of them might know extra info about the Company. In Mr. Rizal’s program, we were taught to build rapport with people around us. Especially those who can help us get through the interview. Other candidates may help you by providing the information you need on the panels and questions asked (if they were interviewed before you). I have experienced this and it helped me a lot, to at least get the picture of what was happening in the interview room. I got to prepare myself before it was my turn. :> Last but not least, dress well, sleep well before the interview and carry your confidence and smile into the interview room. Apply all the techniques taught in Mr. Rizal’s Get That Job! Workshop. Believe me, You will land your dream job! It has worked for me and my friends. Wait no more. Check it out! :>

Hi Rizal. Thank you for the program that you just gave us an hour ago. Yes, it did give me new knowledge and I have put one main challenge to myself as this is the improvement for my weakness. I have decided not to forget the thank you note to the speaker, presenter, interviewer and such after any session. And I have decided to start with you. I basically was interested in the interview skills that you thought us and I shall use it when I go for my interview soon. I remember a quote saying "If you cannot be the first or the best, be different". I believe you are in all three categories. So, congratulations and I do hove our path will cross again. Thank you.

Thanks Mr Rizal :) Well, your responses brought smiles to my face :) It's amazing, you have given me the confidence to apply my dream job. The resume writing tips and interview tips really helped me to be prepared in submitting a resume and to attend the interviews. Thanks to you for guiding me in the right direction and answering questions about things in which I was clueless (which seemed to be a lot). Without the assistance of the help found here, I'm sure I would not have gotten such an outstanding resume. Thanks again for all your support and help.

Dear Mr. Rizal, Assalamualaikum. How are you? I hope you still remember me, Ainul Mardziah binti Mohamed from Universiti Malaysia Sabah. I wrote a testimonial at your webstie. Anyway, I was very impressed by the talk you gave us. It was different. I told some of my friends and families of your teaching but many were sceptical, including my mother who was a former Manager in Hong Leong Management. But I went ahead and tried your tactics on writing a different style of resume. I showed it to my brother and he was even more dubious about the whole thing. I posted it to MPOB but I could not manage to take a picture in front of their building due to the short notice. After two screening interviews, I finally got the job. So did my friend, Roseline (in another company) who went to your talk last January. Juat wanted you to know. I have always believed that if you cannot be first or best, be different. The mirror imaging really works!!! I tried not only to secure a career for myself but to get new friends in my workplace too. It is a powerful tool indeed. Thank you for teaching me something different any maybe we will meet again someday. Wasalam. Yours Sincerely, Ainul MM
